Today on The Solid Verbal, Dan and Ty lead off the show by bringing up an Andrea Adelson article on Miami’s Stephen Morris. This leads to a discussion on which quarterbacks are the best in the ACC. They both agree on Tajh Boyd as no. 1 and Bryn Renner at no. 2, but disagree on rounding out the top five.

The guys traverse the country, looking at which schools hired the best coaches to fit their programs. Gus Malzahn and Bret Bielema immediately come up, though, it could be tough sledding for both of them in their first seasons. Gary Anderson at Wisconsin could be the best hire of the offseason, Mike MacIntyre can only go up with Colorado, Sonny Dykes is a wildcard at Cal and Willie Taggart might be able to use USF as a springboard for an even bigger job.

Next Dan and Ty crack open the inbox to take some listener questions, rapid-fire style. They hit on Bob Stoop’s yammering from his perch in Norman, what Bill O’Brien’s success on the recruiting trail means for the Penn State program and what’re the chances Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chuck Martin lands a head coaching job in the near future.

Ty gives the rundown on his wedding bets spreadsheet, conceived a couple years ago when he attended seven weddings over six weeks. In an effort to make things interesting, Ty would wager on a variety of things that occur at weddings. How long would the best man speech be? How many utensils would there be at the dinner table?

The listener emails continue with talk of which random teams do they root for if you happen to catch a game? Ty goes with Georgia because of his favorable experience in Athens, while Dan goes with Iowa State and their giant-killing tendencies.

Starburst power rankings are discussed, as are their top candy counter selections.

Another controversial topic comes to the forefront: What are Dan and Ty’s Mount Rushmore of adolescent celebrity crushes? Their nineties sports clothing wardrobes are discussed, as are their favorite accents.

Dan and Ty close out with the toughest question of the night: What are their favorite Seinfeld episodes ever?
