What must Oregon do to take the next step in Dan Lanning’s second year? We invited DuckTerritory.com‘s Matt Prehm on the program to discuss Dan Lanning’s first discuss.
Our conversation centered mainly around the defense, which had a rough season last year, particularly in getting to the quarterback, with the worst sack numbers since 1986. Thankfully, the team has added some pieces to help address this issue, including Jordan Burch, a former five-star recruit from South Carolina, and Jestin Jacobs, a linebacker from Iowa. It’s clear that finding and establishing a consistent pass rush is going to be a key to their success. Additionally, linebacker play and secondary need to be better.
Despite the challenges, there is much optimism about Oregon’s prospects for the upcoming season, particularly with Bo Nix leading the way on offense.
