Despite a strong offense, the Oregon Ducks were plagued by defensive woes during the 2022 season. Ranking a dismal 96th in the nation, the defense struggled to make stops and put pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The linebacking corps and secondary were particularly vulnerable. And, of course, the constant coaching turnover, with three different coordinators in three seasons, didn’t help.

But, as we discussed, Duck fans have reason for optimism ahead of the 2023 campaign. Dan Lanning has been aggressive on both the recruiting trail and transfer portal, adding loads of new talent, especially along the defensive line.
