• Robert Bolden, true freshman QB for Penn State, is now a true freshman starting QB for Penn State. This could get hairy, Nittany Lions.

• Big Twen divisions were announced yesterday. The story’s not too exciting, as everyone looked at the breakdown and collectively said, “Eh, looks about right to me.”

• Here are details of the deals BYU has already made since going independent. ***Spoiler Alert*** It’s ESPN and Notre Dame.

• USC AD Pat Haden said he would consider independence in “today’s environment.” College Football: The best on-field sport, the worst off. Thinking about pitching that to Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, along with “College Football: The Cure for the Common Sport.”

• Marvin Austin, UNC’s star defensive tackle, has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. Surely, this will affect UNC’s defensive line performance against LSU on Saturday. For a more scientific look at UNC’s ongoing compliance issues, please refer to this.

• There’s no rhyme or reason to the NCAA‘s decisions. Andy Staples continues to break this 104 year old story, as it pertains to Jeremiah Masoli.

• The Playoff PAC, an organization trying to take down the BCS through a political action committee, produced a new video. There aren’t any song girls, but it’s still good.

• The Wall Street Journal chimes in with some helpful college football number nerdery. (via EDSBS)

• BYU is once again Ms. Independent. And their non-football programs move to the WCC, which means that BYU needs to make sure that the men’s basketball team is taken care of. WCC men’s basketball has always been strong (and on ESPN) – Gonzaga, St Mary’s, USD, etc. – so make no mistake, this wasn’t a strategic move to strengthen women’s swimming, obvious as that may have seemed.

• Ole Miss QB (and sometime amateur park ranger) Jeremiah Masoli has been denied immediate eligibility by the NCAA. Pending an appeal, Masoli won’t play in 2010. Either the NCAA is doing the right thing the wrong way or the wrong thing the wrong way. Or something.

• Iowa center Josh Koeppel was driving a motorcycle in Iowa City and subsequently hit by a pickup truck after it failed to yield. He somehow walked away fine, though. He’s clearly built for sustaining such impact, or as experts call it, “The Anti-Rubenstein.”

• The Pac-10 is extensively previewed and compiled by now-outed Verballer Juff Nusser at SB Nation.

• Nebraska coach Bo Pelini may not name its QB starter until Saturday’s kickoff. Pelini said he wants to avoid a “circus” and everyone will know who QB1 in a simple, professional way when they parachute onto the 50 with The Final Countdown blaring.

• Nike unveiled its pro combat uniforms for a few select teams earlier today. Take a minute to poke through them for a little bit and then sit back and realize how old you truly are.

• Big Ten divisions may be announced today. TV stations all over Missouri are reporting Mizzou to the East.

• Mark Ingram will miss at least Alabama’s opener against San Jose State after minor arthroscopic knee surgery. The concensus is that he’ll be fine, but it does damage his chances at winning another Heisman, which he had no chance to do in the first place, even with two bionic 182% healthy knees.

• EDSBS drops this year’s “Howard Schnellenberger’s Top 25.” I think I get about 79% of this year’s references, which is an all-time record.

• Minnesota suspended a safety and an offensive tackle for tomorrow’s opener against Middle Tennessee State. I think I speak for everyone when I say, “Minnesota uses safeties and offensive tackles?”

• Penn State’s Nittany Lion was cited for public drunkenness. After my short stay on the Penn State campus, I’ve been under the impression that private drunkenness in State College is more of a stigma than anything the Lion is being accused of.

• Mack Brown is in support of the Heisman Trust awarding a retroactive Heisman to Vince Young. Because accepting money and gifts made Reggie Bush seem like he wasn’t as good at football as he was in 2005. Go away, revisionists, it’s over. Now, I’m going to sit over there and polish my 2005 Oregon Pac-10 championship ring.

• Brandon Spikes, former Florida LB, or somebody that looks a lot like him, is now immortalized on video doing MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY things on ChatRoulette (his ween is a supporting character). The link here is SFW, but the site they link to is very much not. Unless you work with Brandon Spikes, then you totally know what you’re in for. Allegedly.

• Betting lines are out for this week’s action. For those of you looking to lay down some cash on Idaho/North Dakota, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer. Or spend the money on something worthwhile, like food or clothing for your children. And if you have particularly well-fed children, hit the “Shirts” button on our menu bar and order away

• Missouri RB Derrick Washington was formally charged with sexual assault. This in no way means that he was charged by a butler ringing a mini bell while announcing the charges. Damn.

• Notre Dame WR Shaquelle Evans is transferring, most likely to UCLA, where he’s supposedly the next great UCLA receiver to play a little bit and then not a lot and then beat a MAC team in a bowl game that people watch because, “Whatever, it’s still football.”

• Kirk Herbstreit, ESPN’s Gameday co-host and preeminent guy with itty bitty blonde spikes, released his Herbie Awards today. He seems to like America’s favorite 8W/20L QB as much as anyone else, or perhaps even more. I can’t really get upset because he also seems to like both Oregon running backs and hates the Atlanta airport – two arguments I couldn’t possibly agree with more.

• New best bud of the show Ted Miller has linked to all of the Pac-10 depth charts, should best coast football interest you. ***Spoiler Alert*** There aren’t too many surprises. Steven Threet won the ASU QB job, Darron Thomas will start for Oregon at QB, and USC will be starting a true freshman at WR and CB Thursday night. And Washington State announced that they’ve changed their defensive gameplan from “allowing” to “tackling.” Ok fine, “brushing up against.”

• Ole Miss QB (trysbfgl;skjfdadfabvcnfasd) Jeremiah Masoli still hasn’t been cleared to play for the Rebels. If only there was some way to hack into the NCAA mainframe…

(I’m ashamed of writing that, but it was my duty. Heh, duty.)

• Penn State‘s still looking for a quarterback. Sophomore Matt McGloin has the edge, if for no other reason than his name sounds like a sound effect. Or the greatest marketing opportunity for McDonalds locations across central PA.

• USC has suspended DB Patrick Hall for a “lack of commitment to the program.” And all those guys who came thiiiiisssss close to going to other schools with no penalty will be suiting up.

• To build on yesterday’s link to The Wiz‘s poster schedules, SB Nation celebrates (?)  the marriage between team photos and being shirtless/covered in baby oil.

In creating a new site, we decided to add new things to the site beyond just episodes and occasional announcements and polls. Last week, we started the daily “Click Chorus,” a collection of daily links to stories and videos that are somewhat in the realm of college football. Or not.

This week, we introduce Solid Verbal Overtime, or whatever we eventually decide to call the segment. Our first choice for names was “Yes, Dear,” but it turns out that that name has been taken.

What the new video segment is is simple – we talk about a couple of topics that we didn’t get to on the show. It could be game previews, hypothetical questions, historic reenactments – whatever. It’s just more Ty, more Dan, but this time with moving pictures.

The first episode touches on a couple of topics we haven’t gotten to, and we were each, as it happens, in our childhood bedrooms (though mine has been taken over by my mom as her new work area). Please excuse us if there are any tech issues. They’ve all either been worked out or will be immediately.

• North Carolina, on top of its current NCAA investigation, has reported itself for committing possible academic infractions, or as it’s more commonly known, running a college football program. The second you argue about the sanctity of academics is the second you poop on your own credibility.

Also, Butch Davis is slowly beginning to look like an older, sanction-y Will Forte, who coincidentally left SNL yesterday. Be well, Falconer/only reason SNL is sometimes funny.

• Georgia RB Washaun Ealey decided that the Bulldogs’ offseason has been far too quiet. so he spiced things up with a hit-and-run at 5:22 AM in a university parking garage. No panties were reported to be found in his front seat.

• USC and Texas will play each other in 2017 and 2018. No word yet on whether or not Lane Kiffin plans on buying a ticket for the games or watching at his futuristic home – one of the first powered by actual puppy tears.

• Urban Meyer, while stressing out over last year’s SEC Championship Game, lost his ass. The New York Times says so. (via EDSBS)

• Mizzou RB Derrick Washington won’t be playing for awhile.

• Dan Hawkins wants a contract extension. Adorable.

• BYU, according to sources (multiple? inside? anonymous?), will stay in the Mountain West. So essentially nothing has actually happened, yet I’ve wasted literally dozens of words writing about this non-story. Thanks for that.

• The Arkansas radio station that fired Renee Gork, the reporter who wore a Florida Gator hat to a press conference, has replaced the reporter with Michael Smith, who played RB at the university between 2006 and 2009. Arkansas and Coach Petrino have denied having anything to do with Gork’s firing, with Petrino adding, “Arkansas???? I’m the new coach of Tampa Bay Buccaneers!”

• Whale Wars has a two-hour finale tonight. Watch as incompetent mariners destroy expensive boats in the name of anti-whaling failure.

• Wisconsin AD Barry Alvarez comfirmed that the Badgers and Iowa will be in separate divisions once the Big Twen is broken into divisions. This could mean that The Heartland Trophy may not be awarded every year, which will ultimately throw those two states into a freefalling chaos.

• Position battles are ending across the campuses of non-AQ schools. Here are some more quarterbacks that will be showcasing their skills on premium regional networks all over the country.

• Kasen Williams, just another HS senior who looks like he redshirted, grayshirted, and took a mission before the 7th grade, will announce his college decision tomorrow between Cal, LSU, Florida, Notre Dame, and Washington. I’m assuming he’s a Husky.

• Yahoo’s Dan Wetzel thinks the Big 10 is “selling out tradition.” I love Dan Wetzel. It’s almost impossible to be a rational, well-researched hater, and he does it marvelously. Pre-order his book, even though he stonewalled us for an interview. We’ll wear you down, Wetzel!

• South Carolina players are still being investigated for getting sweetheart deals on hotel rent. Steve Spurrier declined comment, but did point out that he’s worked out a hitch in his swing when he uses his mid irons.

• BYU still hasn’t named a starting QB between the more experienced (read: turning 38) Riley Nelson and the much-touted true freshman Jake Heaps. ***Spoiler Alert*** It won’t matter, BYU won’t be very good this year.

• Oklahoma RB DeMarco Murray trained this offseason by working with MMA guys. This is just like my own training, except replace “working with MMA guys” with “watching Whale Wars on Animal Planet and eating a chicken wrap.”

• Some Pac-10 coaches stepped out with their wives last month for a Pac-10 event in Hollywood. The Wiz has the pictures. Rawr.

• New USC AD Pat Haden tells Dan Patrick that Reggie Bush should give back his Heisman. Dan Patrick responded by asking, “En Fuego?” Then there was an uncomfortable silence.

• New Vanderbilt coach Robbie Caldwell was mic’d up for practice. He’s a likable fella… so Vanderbilt’s going to be terrible.

• Ohio State will welcome Colorado to The Horseshoe on Sept. 24, 2011 for the paltry sum of $1.4 million in what’s now commonly known as a, “Home and That’s It.” Colorado’s financial struggles have been well known, so it makes sense for both sides – Colorado gets some cash and Ohio State gets to baptize whoever Colorado’s new coach is by some gnarly Columbus fire.

• Colorado also may put off joining the PacDozen until after the 2011 season, not after the upcoming one like conference acquaintance, Nebraska. The reason? The Buffs don’t want to lose out on some sweet shared Big 12 revenue.

• The state of New Mexico has two new starting quarterbacks. New Mexico’s will be B.R. Holbrook and NMSU will be led by Matt Christian. So to those following football in The Land of Enchantment, there’s some information that may be of note……………..sorry I drifted off for a second there.

• Brian Kelly has spoken with NBC about how quickly Notre Dame will be playing and how that will relate to the network’s way of broadcasting their games. He also took exception to the way NBC went into commercial last year with the whole, “Coming up after the break, Notre Dame will let Enter School Here run straight through their D-line without being even remotely inconvenienced by an attempt at an arm tackle.” Ice cold, NBC, ice cold.

• Southern Miss OT O.C. Brown is the subject of a documentary that will tell the story of his circumstances growing up and eventually being recruited in Memphis. It obviously brings to mind the success of a recent movie chronicling the rough childhood and academic challenges of a highly-touted recruit, but I’ve been assured that Brown’s story is actually quite different than Jimmy Clausen’s.

• David Reaves, New Mexico’s quarterbacks coach and Lane Kiffin’s brother-in-law was interviewed by the NCAA about the recruiting practices of Lane Kiffin and his staff while Reaves and Kiffin were at Tennessee. Man, to think Reaves has already been under so much scrutiny for his flashy B.R. Holbrook decision, and now this? How crazy can one week get?!?

• Oregon has begun to break in their carbon helmets. Haters gon’ hate.

• Syracuse coach (and another BFF of the Podcast), Doug Marrone is having trouble keeping his players healthy. I hate to say it, but I feel like this is all probably karma for Eric Devendorf’s awful beard.

• Kovario Middleton, former Washington TE, will not be transferring to Nebraska. Apparently the rigors of playing Pac-10 football and violating team rules has left little time for Middleton to get his schoolwork in order. I’m saying it right now – feels like an Ole Miss Rebel.

• Position battles are winding down as depth charts are beginning to be locked in. At USC, changes are afoot at MLB, RB, and WR … At Kentucky, well, no changes are afoot at QB … Tennessee has all but made a QB announcement official … and Charlie Strong has his first QB at Louisville. The Solid Verbal is yet to announce it’s host depth chart, but word is it’s 1A: Hildenbrandt and 4B: Rubenstein.

• Oregon State OL Tyler Thomas got drunk, got naked, and got all up in somebody’s .. house? Indeed he did, and despite getting into a three point stance and charging police when they arrived, he still got tased for his efforts. Drunk, naked, and temporarily immobilized is no way to go through life, son.

• Dillon Baxter, USC’s highly touted freshman RB may already have two strikes against him – one being his hoax re: coaches contacting him after the NCAA sanctions were announced and two being his violation of team policy earlier this month. His speed has always been top-notch, but two strikes before fall classes start? Kudos.

• Jeremiah Masoli has not yet been cleared by the NCAA to play for Ole Miss. If he isn’t cleared in time for the season, he could always take his redshirt year and play in 2011. In the meantime, he’d work towards getting his parks and recreation degree and warn children about the dangers of accidentally being in the wrong place and not doing anything wrong ever. I don’t even know where the sarcasm began and ended there. Moving on…

• South Carolina has suspended Weslye Saunders, its star TE, indefinitely for violation of team rules. Saunders has been the subject of an NCAA investigation due to his close friendship with UNC DT (and my boy) Marvin Austin. Something about this story isn’t right, mainly the fact that none of Steve Spurriers quotes are tagged with anything like, “Spurrier said, before chipping it three feet from the flag.”

• ESPN reporter Jenn Brown won’t be endorsing Icehouse, according to The Business Journal (serving Greater Milwaukee). From a credibility standpoint, it’s understandable, but make no mistake, The Solid Verbal is perfectly willing to take money from anyone, including you, Evil Angel Video (Google at your own risk, it’s wildly NSFW).

• Bobby Bowden has a new book coming out entitled, “Called to Coach.” It’s probably pretty good because a professional wordsmith like Mark Schlabach wrote it, preventing me from saying something like, “The first 2/3 is interesting, but the last part is lazy, irrelevant, and possibly written but Chuck Amato.” But seriously, Bowden book people, feel free to blurb that.

• Missouri LB Will Ebner was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He’s not even a starter, but this only goes to approve dumb DUIs committed by backup middle linebackers can happen outside of Eugene, OR. Sighhhhhh.

(Also, Shakespeare’s Pizza in Columbia, MO is a delicious option if you go to a game there. I ate pizza and played Quarters there, which I imagine is what The Bard intended.)

• Middle Tennessee State QB Dwight Dasher may have both lost thousands of dollars playing poker (loaned to him by an older gentleman) and stolen a check from a teammate to pay back his loan. My favorite part of the story is that Dasher loves to play poker “despite apparently not possessing the necessary skills to be successful at the game.” BURN.

• The NCAA released the profit findings of 120 FBS schools. Not much to say here other than the fact that I vaguely feel like Lester Freamon from The Wire. FOLLOW THE MONEY!!

• Scrimmage Reviews: A lot of conferences had scrimmages this weekend. Some of those conferences include the ACC and the Big 10. Also, Baylor’s Robert Griffin and some notable non-AQ schools did they thang. ESPN has the info. It’s the stuff too hot to show on College Football Live… relevant, interesting information!

• UCLA center Kai Maiava is out for the season after fracturing his ankle. With the young, talented depth UCLA has stockpiled, they probably could’ve taken the hit anywhere else but the O-line – and now things are looking pretty brutal up front. I won’t say something dumb like how even I could bullrush UCLA… but certainly Ty, with his extensive softball experience could perhaps collapse a pocket or five.

• Temple head coach and BFF of the Podcast Al Golden announced his new starting QB, Chester Stewart. He appears to be not not only more mobile than Vaughn Charlton (now a TE), but he also has a name, that sounds like he could, at any moment, open a fine children’s clothing boutique.

• Taylor Potts was named Texas Tech’s new starting QB over Steven Sheffield. The choice was pretty easy – Potts appears to be a better fit for Tech’s new offense and has been known to grow superior facial hair. Luckily, Steven Sheffield has the name to, at any point, start at striker for Liverpool or become the next British Prime Minister.

• ESPN’s Jenn Brown agreed to become the face of Icehouse. In trying to decide who best represents Icehouse’s core image, the company ultimately had a tough decision between Brown, an attractive ESPN personality, and three awful Delta Sigs from Wisconsin-Whitewater.

• The first AP Poll is out. There’s nothing really to complain about since the season is still a little less than two weeks away, but do make a point to follow PollSpeak, a site that publishes the ballots of AP voters. You’re crazy for this one, Raleigh!

• USC can cling to AP title hopes, according to Chris Dufresne of the LA Times. Not sure why people discount this, it’s not like the crystal trophy is some sort of beacon of legitimacy. Or “bacon of legitimacy,” as I originally wrote. Damn, bacon sounds crazy delicious right now.

• Michigan says you can’t smoke or bring in water bottles to Wolverine games this fall. According to the story, though, feel free to bring in talented defensive backs and dual threat quarterbacks. Please?

• Bodog has Heisman odds. They included receivers, best coast players, and Tate Forcier. Adorable. Good karma all around.

• Nick Saban was impersonated. Skillfully. By walk-on Rob Ezell. As expected, he’s the first one to go once Saban gets his Mr. Burns trap door in place.

• LeGarrette Blount is now on a two day Click Chorus streak for a story about him punching somebody. It may now officially be more newsworthy when he doesn’t clock somebody in the face, no matter the circumstance. Attn: Nashville food service employees, don’t even get his order wrong. Just in case.

• Tate Forcier‘s performance in Michigan practice has given him wiiiiiiiiiiiings. Slow news day.

• Orrin Hatch, the Utah senator who was been crusading against all things BCS, says he will keep up his fight, even though the two big schools in his conference appear to be aligning themselves for a better shot at earning a BCS slot. Hatch is a longtime politician, so you know you can trust that he’ll fight when a 10-2 Utah gets an at-large bid over 12-0 Wyoming.

• Andy Staples has released his Preseason Top 25, and sadly, it’s utterly reasonable. Except for no mentions of Dr. Bernard Pierce. Step up, Staples!

• Texas and BYU have agreed to a home and home. I’d assume by 2014, the game in Austin will be on either ESPN/ABC or some sort of Longhorn Network, and the 2013 game will be on BYU’s super-advanced, 2160p HD public access network.

• BYU independence rumors led to many things happening in the Mountain West and WAC yesterday. The Mountain West got fatter, the WAC skinnier. I’m still new to this linking thing, but the Wiz isn’t. Best rundown of the events.

• Georgia coach Mark Richt jumped into a pool backwards, per yearly tradition. In his clothes. Ty’s not impressed, still has him on the hot seat.

• LeGarrette Blount, former Oregon RB and current Tennessee Titans RB, got into a situation at practice and …sighhhhh.

• Antonio Cromartie. the former Florida State CB and current Jet talked about his children last night on Hard Knocks. I won’t spoil anything, but 2007 was good to him.

• Texas and Florida State had good recruiting days yesterday. Malcolm Brown, the #1 RB in the nation according to Rivals, is going to be a Longhorn. James Wilder Jr., the #1 athlete will play (most likely) RB at Florida State. You’ll remember Wilder as the guy Solid Verbal guest JW Walsh (top 10 QB in the 2011 class) couldn’t believe wasn’t 30 and already in the NFL. Good to see the underdogs getting some big guys for once.

• Nick Saban may be doing and saying a lot of things this offseason, but he certainly isn’t intentionally endorsing your candidate, no matter how bad your photoshopping abilities are.

• Washington may try to sell firewater to help fund their stadium renovation. Where was this idea during the Willingham years? Where, damn youuuuuuuuuu?

• Mark Ingram attempts the Tiger Woods ball bouncing trick. Wait, that could be misinterpreted. The golf ball bouncing trick. Whew.

What is, “Rolling the dice that networks will want to broadcast BYU Football?”

• BYU wants to be Miss Independent. Allegedly. Rumor has it. ESPN’s Andy Katz has a good rundown of the story that may or may not have started on a hacked official Colorado State Twitter feed.

IF the story has legs, it’s probably a decent move for the school – they already have their own network (that I can’t imagine any non-Mormon watches) distributed on national satellite and some west coast cable systems, and can probably make more money than they did in the MWC if they schedule well. Not that it’d be too difficult to get more exposure than the Mountain West has now.

A BCS guarantee is still tricky – not sure if BYU has the same allure that Notre Dame does (or at least, did) on a national level.

This story also gives me an excuse to post an excellent video, but in the interest of equal time, a not-so-excellent video.

• Lane Kiffin says USC has to start planning now for the seasons in which USC will be most affected by the loss of up to 30 scholarships, and one of the things they’re considering is having certain players play both ways.

So if I’m to get this straight, Lane Kiffin wants to double the chances of injury, fatigue, and cratering an already-thin depth chart in the hopes that his best athletes can carry the program through the dark ages both it and he will soon face? The Duck fan in me rejoices, but the (very) small human fan just got douche chills. (via SbB)

• Michigan CB Troy Woolfolk is out for the season after dislocating his ankle. The depth at DB, especially corner, was already razor thin, so this is obviously a huge blow.

As far as I can tell, the only real solution is bringing back some sort of incarnation of Biff, the live wolverine that briefly served as the school’s mascot in the 20s before it was deemed too unpredictable and ferocious. The solution? “Accidentally” release Biff during the visiting team’s walkthrough and hope he nicks a receiver. Or five.

• Mike Leach was interviewed by Richard Deitsch of SI.com about Texas Tech, his upcoming TV gig with CBS College Sports, and his future in coaching. Nothing especially remarkable here, but Leach hasn’t spoken to anyone extensively in some time, so you might as well put on yerr peg leg and give er’ a read.

• Tennessee released a video of its players interviewing each other and having a good time during the team’s media day. It’s kind of long, but it made me want a slushee, so you know I’m all in. (via EDSBS)

• Jeremy Bloom, the former Colorado receiver, Olympic skier, brief NFL receiver, and Abercrombie model, was on something called The Daily Line and demolished Nick Saban and the NCAA. I enjoyed it, Ty thought it was a disgusting act. Ok, I made up Ty’s reaction. Or did I?

Today’s random video comes to us from the always dependable folks at America’s Funniest Videos. It’s people having physical mishaps on water slides. I don’t know why, but things become 57% funnier when you see that cheesy date watermark on an old video, and this doesn’t disappoint.

Hey Verballers and random passers-by, I got tired of not writing, so I decided to start posting links in the morning. I’ll also post some videos and briefly talk about other things that could include, but isn’t limited to, Pauly D’s hair on Jersey Shore. Just one of a few different things we’ll be doing as the season approaches and opens. I call it “Click Chorus” because it’s in the ballpark of making sense, but mostly because it sounds funny when you say it out loud.

Figured there was no better way to start this off than using some Oregon cheerleaders to get some attention. Sorry what was I saying?

• Bobby Petrino did not care much for a local radio reporter, Renee Gork, wearing a Gator hat at his press conference. She was shortly let go thereafter. Short of it being a deliberate, silent (and kind of dumb) attack on the university, it’s one of those stories that makes you think, “Yea, screw them” if Arkansas loses in a heartbreaker at some point this season. I’ll then forget why I was ever mad in the first place and take a short nap during BC/NC State. God, I love naps.

• Kyle Parker signed with the Colorado Rockies at the 11th hour, but will still play QB for Clemson this fall, before reporting for baseball duties next spring. With a $1.4 million bonus in the bank. Or wherever it is he decides to invest his money. Tip: Building the most technologically-advanced intercontinental college football podcast studio wouldn’t be the worst way to spend it. Actually, no wait, it almost assuredly is. And the second worst is blowing it all on average-looking prostitutes and thousands of chili cheese a-plenties.

• Kavario Middleton, now former Washington TE, has decided to take his talents to Lincoln, NE, after his talents were no longer desired in Seattle for a violation of team rules. A former highly-touted prospect and emerging Pac-10 TE, Middleton seemed to have many options, but opted to go Big Red RIGHT AFTER THE VERBACON ANNOUNCEMENT. We may have just seen our first Verbacon Bump™.

• TCU announced a $105 million dollar renovation/expansion of Amon G. Carter stadium to, among other things, impact recruiting efforts and become the “Camden Yards of collegiate football stadiums.” Whoever the TCU coach is in a couple years just hit the jackpot.

• Mike Leach was hired by CBS College Sports to do color analysis for this upcoming season. Somebody with CBS College Sports should tell me how it goes. I’m guessing he’ll be fine. Yarr.

• Tennessee appears to be starting the season with 17 players on scholarship. Ok, not really, but they’re dropping like flies in Knoxville. And they just cancelled a series with North Carolina. Tennessee has won a national championship in Justin Bieber’s lifetime and they’re canceling games with average ACC teams. I’m becoming increasingly worried for Clay Travis’s safety.

Finally, today’s video is of a young child accusing her parents of being too loud as they made raucous love. It has nothing to do with anything, I just like the phrase “made raucous love.” Enjoy your Tuesday.
