Ty and Dan talk with Luke Zimmermann from Land-Grant Holy Land about differences between Urban Meyer and Jim Tressel, the challenges of entering a season with boundaries, the progression of Braxton Miller, Luke Fickell’s demotion, and the weird dynamic of Michigan fans rooting for a relevant Ohio State. Plus, timely conversation about whether sprinters should get NFL contracts, the influx of bad beach tattoos, 90s movies about kids outsmarting adults, and winning strategies for public urination.

The Solid Verbal is a twice-weekly college football podcast started in 2008 by Ty Hildenbrandt and Dan Rubenstein. The show continues through the regular season, post-season, and off-season, because people don’t just watch college football, they live it.
If you're going to have this idiot on again. Ask him to keep his mouth shut for 10 seconds. Worst guest ever.
First of all, this guy Zimmerman misused his reference to the Stockholm syndrome. As far as his Ohio St comments, he displayed an obliviousness for the Pac-12 that is so commonplace here in the Midwest. Cal plays Ohio St this year and that would constitute a non-conference game, right? Zimmerman flatly stated that Central Florida was Ohio St's toughest non-conference opponent and he didn't even mention the others. If he's mentioned Cal, but said Central Florida was tougher, that'd be another thing. Ok sure, PreSnapRead.com has UCF at 37 and Cal at 38 but that kind of goes toward proving my point. Anyway, I wonder if Zimmerman is aware that from January of 1970 forward, in head-to-head Big-x /Pac-x matchups, the Pac-x has 26 wins, the Big-x 12.
