Ty and Dan recap the so-called “Game of the Century” between LSU and Alabama and wonder whether other television options might’ve been a better choice. Plus, thoughts on the other Week 10 action and more listener voice messages.

haha i just listened to today’s podcast. Do you realize you said “Joe paterno is like the pope up there.” Exactly! Considering the current pope is alleged to have covered up child molestation by priests under his watch. Perfect Comparison!
We could have watched while dudes sodomized kids. But no, we watched football.
Pathetic, PSU.
I really wish people, you two included, would just shut the hell up about how bored they were by LSU/Bama. Isn’t this exactly what EVERYONE was predicting was going to happen given that both defenses are all-world and both offenses are, uh, how to put this, not? Listening to you idiots complain about your boredom is like listening to someone who’s just seen J. Edgar and is complaining about all that damn focus on the FBI. We get it. You were bored. The fact that you expected otherwise is baffling.
Pete,
You are just assuming/making up that they expected otherwise. They never said they expected an exciting game, or to be entertained, and not be bored. I really have no idea where you are pulling that from and it plainly undermines your entire complaint.
That being said. The hype of the game by the national sports media echo chamber created an expectation among casual fans that this game was a huge deal, possible the game of the century. People like to be entertained by football (generally speaking), and although entertainment is open to interpretation (some people may find that game fascinating), the majority of people clearly did not.
In fact if you are/were a regular verballer it would be crystal clear to you that Dan/Ty probably expected the game to be a little boring, are both mildly annoyed with the false expectations that were created, and then conveyed that to their viewers on their own podcast. You are the one who should not listen to the podcast if you don’t want to hear their complaining/analysis/opinions. They are simply doing what they always have done as far as I can tell.

Oh let me see, where did I pull that from? If one is expecting to be bored, why would one complain about being bored? Shouldn’t there have been a “we knew this was coming” element, rather than a “wow this game was incredibly boring” element? You know, if they weren’t expecting an entertaining game? I guess apparently if you’re a regular “verballer” it precludes you from logic. My bad.
Honestly, yes, I could sense the sarcasm at the beginning of the podcast, that the game was wildly overhyped…but then they proceeded to drop the sarcasm and just complain about how boring the game was, how they wouldn’t watch a replay of the game but find some crappy show to watch on TNT, coming off as a couple of annoying casual college football fans, which they clearly are not, and clearly the majority of their listeners are not.
Also, apparently if you like a podcast you are never allowed to criticize it. Keep up that fascist attitude, it’ll get you far.
