I still hold that Moscow is one of the best places on earth. Where else can a kid from Oklahoma try to walk on, tear his rotator cuff twice, fall in love with a mormon, recruit his own band of football hooligans, and recreate the overall craziness that he moved twenty seven hours away to escape?
Guys, listened to the podcast on the way to work this morning… Great job, and keep up the good work!
Ok, I know you’re tired of talking about Moscow, ID, but a couple more things. One, there was no spat between the presidents of UI and BSU. The BSU president was upset about an opinion piece written by a STUDENT in the STUDENT newspaper whose audience is STUDENTS! The response from UI’s president was very classy and civil. BSU’s president was exchanging smack with a student. Nice. He was also upset because Vandals tend to make fun of BSU’s academics and he “can’t tolerate” that, lol. Two, there’s a lot of things to do in and around in Moscow: hiking, biking, camping, skiing, rafting, etc. Yes, alcohol is usually present at these activites, but geez, these are 18-22 year old kids. Additionally, Coeur d’Alene, ID (destination/vacation town) and Spokane, WA (more shopping options)are only an hour and a half away. Three, UI has mostly traditional college students,a large, active Greek system, and a vibrant social climate. Lots of parties and activities (and alcohol), but hey, it’s college. UI and Moscow culture is fun, young, and collegiate. Very different from BSU, and I guess that’s what upset their president so much. BTW, there’s not a potato farm to be found for hundreds of miles from both schools! :)
